Kvitravn

The Call of the White Raven
With Kvitravn, we ventured beyond the Runaljod trilogy into new sonic and thematic territory. The album's title, meaning "White Raven," is a powerful symbol in Norse and shamanic traditions, representing transformation, guidance, and the link between the earthly and the spiritual realms.
In creating Kvitravn, we sought to deepen our connection with Nordic musical traditions while expanding our soundscape with new instrumentation and vocal expressions. Traditional instruments such as the taglharpa, kraviklyra, and goat horn remain central, but we also incorporated additional stringed instruments, flutes, and a broader range of vocal textures to enhance the storytelling.
Lyrically, the album explores themes of animism, nature spirits, sacred animals, and the wisdom carried through generations. The songs weave together elements of folklore, myth, and personal reflections on the interconnectedness of all things. Through these compositions, we aim to evoke the feeling of stepping into an ancient, yet timeless world—one where nature speaks, and the echoes of the past guide the present.
Kvitravn is not merely an extension of our past works but an evolution—an invitation to journey deeper into the mysteries of the old ways. It is a call to listen, to reflect, and to reconnect with the voices that still whisper through the land, the wind, and the trees.
We are grateful to those who walk this path with us, sharing in the journey of discovery and remembrance.
